PET film is thermoplastic polyester that can be laser cut, marked, and engraved. The chemical name for PET is polyethylene terephthalate. PET Film laser cutting can be done with either a 9.3 or 10.6 micron wavelength CO2 laser.
The 9.3 micron laser wavelength is absorbed at the surface of the PET film forming a white frosted surface mark. The surface mark does not interfere with the integrity of the PET film.
